Carolinas RIMS sponsored Shadow Day on March 20th. Students from Appalachian State University, UNC Charlotte and Queens College were able to spend the day with a professional to gain a better understanding of the risk and insurance profession. At the end of the day, the students and sponsors met at Maggiano's Restaurant for a debriefing of what the students had learned during the day.

A check for $2,000 was donated on behalf of RIMS to assist both ASU and UNCC in sending a student to National RIMS for another year. Students that were able to participate include: Heather Benz, James Betker, Sandra Cabra Nino, Yung Chiu, Somora Duverger, Reginald Bentley, Tran Gian, Joseph Howell, Thomas Hutson, Octavia Isom, Julie Kirsch, Darnell McKenzie, Daniell Orrey, Kelly Rankin, Rachael Robinson, Christopher Wescott all from UNC Charlotte. Attending from Apalachian State were Zachary Combs, Sims Crownover, Tyler Dillon, Hayden Garrison, Connor Gorham, Chad Henderson, Lauren Isley, Andrew Johnston. Jade McSheehan, Alyssa Nardi, Carly Parker, Parker Roberson, Cheyenna Sturgill, and Taylor Terrell. Representing Queens College were Robert (Kevin) Anderson and Andy Nguyen.
